The Occupy Wall Street protests continue to spread around the US, highlighting grievances some Americans have about banks, income inequality and a sense that the poor and middle class have been disenfranchised. A recent New York Times/CBS News poll found that almost half of the public thinks the sentiments at the root of the movement generally reflect the views of most Americans. What are your thoughts about the movement? Do you agree with the protesters’ methods?
I agree with their message, but not with their methods. I heard that they started committing crimes and defacing public property.. that's wrong!

RispondiEliminaI think the movement appear in such a violent way because people were tired of cuts, and especially because cuts reguard only the middle and lower class whereas the hiher class becomes richer. I don't want to say that they are right trying to solve this problem violently but there had been lots of peaceful demonstrations which were not listened and they probably realized that no one would have listened to them if they wouldn't have done it violently. In a few words, in my opinion the movement is right and the method is only the reaction for not beeing listened!
RispondiEliminaI think that the reasons why they are fighting and demostrating are right, it's the way they are doing it that is wrong, in fact unfortunately these demostrations are turning up into violent and damaging protest.

I think that if the protesters' thoughts and in general their aim to get the world better, to make the people's rights being respected (as it has to be), and to change the government are good. But from another side violent methods which they use do not correspond to the peacefulness of their goals, so I believe it's not good the method they use.
RispondiEliminaI think that this movement has good reasons but bad methods. The situation is so bad that, in order to be listened, people have to react violently beacuse, if the government doesn't allow them rights peacefully, they have to take their rights with force. Of course, force is never justified, because it is always bad, in every situation and with any reason.
RispondiEliminaOn the other hand, I understand the people of this movement who are using force because they are so desperately willing to have better conditions of life, which should be granted to everyone and everywhere!
I agree with the movement's ideas but it is truh that destroying cities, others belongings and so on you run the risk of express other messages. I thing the great way of protesting is a strong and spreading methods. with a strong way does not mean violence but at loud voice!
RispondiEliminaI think that it is good to express ideas but I do not like demonstrations where people burn, destroy and damage public things and places! I think they only are rude and disrespectful.

RispondiEliminaI agree with their ideas because we have to protest if something is wrong. but there are many way to protest, in particular no-violence method... I heard that they started to destroy everything, shops, cars...it's not right because the owners of these shops and cars are probably people like us...they have to buy another car or to close their shops because people destroyed them without reasons. I think it's not right.
